Equipment & Packing

For walking, climbing and scrambling courses Contour provides the ropes, harnesses and climbing equipment, as well as the group and safety kit.  Should it be needed, for road cycling and Mountain Biking (MTB) Contour can arrange (at extra cost) bicycle and equipment hire.  If required Contour can loan items that are marked with asterix on the lists below at no extra cost. All you have to do is let us know your requirements during booking and we will ensure that the item is made available for you to use for the duration of the activity.  If you have any queries about what to bring, or what Contour can provide out of its own stores, we recommend that you email or call and we will be glad to advise. Also, if you are seeking advice on the merits of a specific item of clothing or equipment please feel free to ring or email,  we will be glad to assist.

Arm and leg warmers are useful on cold starts.  Stored on person or support vehicle when not worn.
Base Layer (Short sleeve cycle top with three rear pockets)
Mid-Layer (Long sleeve thicker cycle top with three rear pockets)
Padded cycling shorts (one pair per day, on longer trips washing facilities will be available)
