Courses on request April to October
We believe that the methodology around which the course is run is truly unique to Contour. Step-by-Step we'll introduce you to the skills and techniques of navigation with a focus on map and compass work, relocation, night and poor weather navigation, as well as the use of GPS and Smart Phone technology as aids to navigation. We deliver the programme progressively by examining, in detail, the key factors that underpin a successful navigational 'leg':
We'll be navigating the rolling hills and valleys of the Brecon Beacons and the 'Green Desert' of Elan, areas which are ideal playgrounds to help you understand, practise and refine your navigation. In short a course which would suit the person who plans to travel on the open moor or mountainside and wish to navigate in hours of darkness or in poor weather as a member of a group or independently. Whether you're new to the outdoors; looking for a refresher or wanting to improve your skills why not call or email and see how we can help you achieve your navigational goals

The whole package was very good: From Bob the instructor, to the stunning location of our campsite, the walks, and the group. I also enjoyed being part of a small party. There was always a relaxed atmosphere which made the learning easier.
